Baby Constipation And How To Treat It

Author: Nail Yener

Constipation in babies can be very painful for both the baby and the parents. This might be as a result of body reaction to some food intake that was neither fresh nor healthy.
There are a number of ways to make the baby "poop", relieving him of the stress when he has no clue what to do. The main idea in all the activities performed for constipation relief is to initiate bowel movement of the baby.
One remedy is to massage the body of the baby so that it starts off bowel movement. Another idea is to move his legs in the style of moving bicycle paddles so that it generates some movement inside the body and there is more and more probability of relief. This is especially important as it can relive from the child's body, the gas created by constipation which can help a lot in the process.
A warm bath in which the tummy is massaged is also a very good thing to do. However, care must be taken while performing any type of massaging activity. All such activities must be performed gently lest the baby's skin is bruised or he feels unduly uncomfortable, even painful.
Use of castor oil as a natural diet intake is a very good way of doing away with baby constipation naturally. This is a pre-emptive measure that avoids the occurrence of constipation in the first place and should regularly be practised so that the child does not have to go through the ordeal of being unable to relieve himself to a comfortable level. Castor oil can conveniently be taken with milk or water once in a day for a couple of days. This oil has the ability to work as a naturally occurring cleansing agent whereby it cleans up all the blockages in the intestines and also does away with stomach pain.
Fresh juice, especially apple juice, serves the same purpose as castor oil. However, the best idea would probably be to change his diet to food items that are anti-constipation in nature such as dates, eggs, bananas et cetera. This would help a lot especially when there is suspicion that the constipation was a result of the intake of unhygienic food.
